HOW IT WORKS - the scheme

charityshoppers set up and run dedicated websites which enable charity supporters to shop online through hundreds of well known retailers. Current retailers include such names as Tesco, John Lewis, Amazon, WH Smith, Dixons, Opodo and many more.

It costs the charity nothing to set up, and nothing to run. There are no fees to pay. The prices paid by charity supporters for any goods or services from any of the retailers listed are exactly the same as if you visited their website directly.

Purchases made with these retailers via the dedicated site will earn money for the charity. This is a commission which is paid by the retailers as a reward for any sales achieved. The commission varies from retailer to retailer, and from product to product, but generally is between 2% and 10% of the purchase price.

charityshoppers give 50% of the commission received direct to the charity concerned, with the remaining profit after operating costs going into a charitable trust fund. All  charities registered with charityshoppers will be eligible to apply for a grant from this trust fund. Grants will be awarded specifically to assist with future marketing activities.

HOW IT WORKS - the retailers and commissions

Retailers work with  affiliate companies so they can concentrate on their core selling businesses. These affiliate companies then work directly with individual website owners and control the advertising, payment and tracking systems etc. These affiliate companies take a small commission from each sale.

charityshoppers works mainly with the affiliate companies. There are a very limited number of retailers who run their own affiliate schemes, for instance Amazon.

Each charity that registers is given a unique reference code which is linked to the retailers.  This ensures that any purchase made is correctly attributed to the appropriate charity.

We will be delighted to talk further about this exciting scheme. Please contact Steve Cross for further information by email to info@charityshoppers.com or on mobile 07747 491294.
